AN
Restaurant [Restaurant Review
] |
Where
should you go if you want the
best PHO? Apparently to AN PHO
Restaurant in Bankstown, they
say it's the best PHO in Sydney,
and my friend Filomena who took
me there absolutely loves it!
Her favourite on the PHO menu
is the PHO topped with cooked
beef. I was about to go for the
PHO topped with chicken &
eggs and the waiter asked me if
I was sure about my choice, which
made me "chicken out"
and just ended
up going for
|
 |
 |
| the
plain PHO topped with Chicken
(no eggs), and that's what it
was pretty plain! Although I must
say, a healthy tasting light meal.
|
 |
| The
portions are huge. You can choose
between Small bowl $9.70 or Large
bowl $10.80, and the small is
pretty large! I ended up helping
my friend eat her PHO topped with
cooked beef, which I do agree
was much tastier than the chicken. |

 |
| PHO
is a traditional Northern style
Vietnamese special rice noodle
soup. Traditional Northern style
Vietnamese specially prepared
rice noodles, topped with fresh
beef or chicken, fresh picked
herbs, bean sprouts and served
in a steaming hot secret rice
soup. And at AN PHO Restaurant
that's all they have on the menu!
PHO!!! So don't Go if you don't
want PHO, because AN won't serve
you anything else. |
 |
| AN
PHO Restaurant is quite a large
place, with much seating. The
feeling is like a noodle bar/school
canteen style. I was kind of impressed
with their high-tech facilities,
sliding doors (even for the toilets),
and touch screen ordering tools.
The service was super fast and
it's a great place to have something
(that something would be PHO)
quick to eat, with a bunch of
friends or family. |
 |
 |
 |
| If
you go to AN PHO at during the
day/weekend, you may as well take
a stroll in the Bankstown Plaza
(China Town), Just behind AN PHO
and check out the food/fruit markets
and hidden plaza's with more little
Vietnamese eateries, herbal remedy
markets, fish markets, fruit and
Vietnamese grocers, with many
interesting ingredients and traditional
food you'd feel you've stepped
into another country. If you've
been to Cabramatta well Bankstown
China Town is similar but at a
smaller scale. A great cultural
experience! |
